Job Description Summary

The Manager, Quality Systems has primary responsibility for site Quality systems at a high-volume facility for commercial solid and liquid products. Working closely with key business partners in Manufacturing, Facilities, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Control; this position will focus on the development of systems to assure compliance to cGMP’s meeting FDA and company goals in an efficient manner.

Supports the Quality Systems function for the Irvine, CA location. Manages up to three employees.

Quality Systems Management

  • Primary responsibility for Quality systems in support of R&D activities, ANDA/NDA submissions and commercial operations including, but not limited to, Document Control, Change Control and Annual Product Review.

  • Develop and maintain key Quality metrics for the functional area to serve as a tool for continued improvement.

FDA Compliance

  • Supporting role and primary FDA interface for site inspections involving the above mentioned areas.

  • Assure systems are in place and functioning to meet all regulatory requirements.

  • Develop, maintain and mentor a staff of QA professionals.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience and certifications required for the job

  • Bachelor's Degree in chemistry or related discipline required.

  • 10+ years’ pharmaceutical QA experience with quality systems,

  • 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory/management capacity in an oral solid dosage facility.

Knowledge

Proficiency in a body of information required for the job

e.g. knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP/GLP/GCP, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, etc.

  • Expert in cGMP’s with a proven track record for providing reasonable cost effective solutions to issues identified.

  • Strong understanding of FDA inspectional techniques, including experience with supporting and coordinating activities for inspections and the relational skills to develop and mentor a department as well as interacting with other professionals and management in the organization.
